V. Louise "Peggy" Rodriguez-Bryant, 87, died June 14, 2024, at the University of Kansas Health System, Great Bend Campus.  She was born January 3, 1937, in Branson, Missouri. Peggy graduated from Barton County Community College and then worked for the SRS Office and later for the Great Bend Tribune.

Peggy loved spending time with her family and especially her grandkids.  She was the rock of the family and was known to be a tad stubborn or bull-headed and could be described as a bit sassy.  But was a loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who was always there to help with advice or just listen when needed.

On June 1, 2001, she married Jose Rodriguez in Great Bend, Kansas. He survives.

She is also survived by her sons; Jeffrey Palacio of Great Bend, and James Bolt and wife Stephanie and family of Hoisington; a son of the heart, James Boehnke of Great Bend; and seven grandchildren, Bryanne Zamarripa of Hoisington, Sierra Palacio and family of Texas, Jordan Palacio of Great Bend, Gefferey Palacio of Kansas City, Kansas, Jesse Croslin, Jr. of Michigan, Ronice Palacio of Great Bend, and Kaleb Larson of Hoisington; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Jones, sons, Jesse Palacio and Ronnie Palacio, and a stepsister, Coleen Miller.

Memorial service will be 7 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Morrison presiding.
