Nancy Clark, 79, of Fulshear, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord Thursday night, October 1, 2026, at Hospice House of Auburn, Maine, with her loving family by her side. Her life was rooted in faith and family to the very end.
Nancy was born in Hoisington, Kansas, on August 31, 1947, the daughter of the late Ralph and Marie Ritter. She was raised in Hoisington and continued her education at Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia (Emporia State University), where she met the love of her life, Randy Clark.
In May 1969, Nancy graduated from college. Then she and Randy married in an intimate ceremony at Faith Community Church in Great Bend, Kansas.
Nancy and Randy came to Hoisington to live and raise their family in 1974. She attended that same church where they were married and became a Sunday School and Women's Bible Study teacher. Her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years. Nancy also worked as a substitute teacher in Hoisington schools.
In 1999, Nancy and Randy moved with the railroad to Salina, Kansas. They attended Emmanuel Foursquare Church, where Nancy also taught a Bible study for many years. During this time, they retired and began to travel to the many places their children lived or traveled, often in their camper. She touched many lives, no matter where she was or traveled.
Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Randy, and their daughters, Jennifer Tankersley of Maine and husband, Trey, and their children: Campbell, Clark, and Claire; Trina Nettleingham of Texas and her husband, Kent, and their sons: Jackson and Carter; and her brother, Darwin Ritter of Salina and wife, Vicki.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ralph and Marie Ritter; her brother, Harlan Ritter; and her sister, Nina Perrotti.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Maine Medical Center and Hospice House in Auburn, Maine, for the care and compassion they gave Nancy during her final days. In her final moments, Nancy was surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. They reminded her that she was loved, that she did not need to be afraid, and that it was okay to go home.
There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at Faith Community Church's Family Center in Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may sign the book at the funeral home now until services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gary's House in Portland, Maine, for their important work of giving shelter to those caring for hospitalized family members at Gary's House, 97 State Street, Portland, ME 04101 or in care of the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
